Sunday afternoon I started to feel it. A slight irritation in the back of my throat, down on the right. It bloomed overnight and by morning my throat ached with each swallow. I loaded up on Vitamin C and Olive Leaf Extract and didn’t begrudge myself a little extra sleep. That afternoon the throat was feeling lots better and I cheerfully thought I was in the clear.
Then, last night a sudden front of foggy congestion rolled in and I was forced to call out the big guns. Liquid Nyquil (store brand, actually). I’ve spent most of the day in this fog. I got up this morning around 9 am, but by 10:30 I was drifting. I fell asleep on the couch and slept for nearly 3 hours. It was that deep sleep that’s like being underwater. Everything is muted and finding the surface that will lead back consciousness is almost impossible.
I actually think my roommate might have come into the apartment while I was unconscious on the couch, but it was impossible for me to wake up enough to determine if I was hallucinating or not. I remember saying to myself, over and over again, “Marisa, wake up. Just enough to get to your bed. You can do it!” Sadly, my inner voice was mistaken, as I was unable to wake up enough to walk down the hallway to my bed. On the couch I stayed.
Hopefully I’ll be a little less foggy tomorrow.
Being sick bites! Hope you feel better, kiddo. Get lots of rest and drink lots of fluid…
Feel better soon! Don’t forget to use Vick’s Vapor Rub (cream formula). I love that a non-drug can make me feel so much better.
My poor little girl. I still hate it when you’re sick. I hope you feel better soon. Love, Love, Love.
Again with the store brand … you’re even thrifty when you’re ill … I love it!
But, do feel better soon … and good job for posting even when you’re in a fog.
try and feel better. What does olive leaf extract do exactly?? And store brands are my best friend
