David and Deb (331)

The day after the Seder, the family gathered again, this time to celebrate my cousin Melissa’s birthday (a few weeks early, but she was heading back to LA the next day). Though it was Passover, there was a hidden cache of bagels, if you knew who to ask.

Time for my family’s annual Seder. I made the brisket this year and it turned out well. Several of my relatives told me it was the best brisket they’ve ever had. That felt good.

Weekday lunch. A fried egg on top of some sauteed spinach and grape tomatoes. Avocado and a sliver of mango on the side.

Artichokes. I loved these as kid. My mom would steam one per person and we’d eat them by dipping each leaf in garlic butter before scraping the flesh off with our teeth. Good stuff.

Tile art in the New York City subway. I wish Philadelphia’s system cared so much about beauty.
