I ran home during lunch today, and waiting for me at the front desk of my building was a large, flat package. Seeing Bud bring it to the counter, my brain raced, trying to figure out what it was. A very wide, thin book? Something Scott ordered? As soon as I caught the return address, I knew.
My grad school diploma.
It’s pretty neat to have my hands on it, and it’s enormous. I have no clue what I’m going to do with it, as I’m not really the type to frame these things and hang it on the wall. But it’s quite fun, nonetheless.
Geez. My MS is 8.5 x 11 inches. My BA is larger than my MS! The largest certificate I have…is a giant fancy certificate I got for being one of the top two 8th graders in my school. Covered with copper-plate handwriting, with a giant seal, it looks like the Magna Carta ought to look, or something.
Go ahead and frame it! Someday if you have a prestigious job somewhere with a wood-paneled private office, think how legitimate it will make you look!
😉
Congratulations!!! You absolutely should frame it, if only for your parents’ sake when they visit. That piece of paper represents a lifetime of hard work. Find a spot for it — no one will think you’re showing off.
Congrats!!!!
My mom has all my degrees – she gets a kick out of having them, so who am I to say “no”…
awesome – congrats! kate has her’s up in tha leather binder thingie on one of our shelves. a friend of ours recently got her Ph.D framed by her dad.
Finally, something to decorate your cubicle with! 😉
