and I’ve been here, too. What prompted your trip to Cape Charles? It’s relatively “undiscovered” by most DelMarVans, and when we visited in ’09 during the height of July/August, it was ghostly. Did you drive through the golf resort there? Half-built and abandoned houses, empty post-apocalyptic feel driving by multi-million dollar brick homes surrounded by weed overgrown lots. The only place in town that had any life to it was the bookstore/coffee cafe.
I was there crashing a friend’s vacation. She lives outside of DC and someone has told her about the town. I was far less ghost town-y than you described, so looks like things are picking up in Cape Charles.
